Spectra provides full-service management for arenas, stadiums, convention centers, ice rinks, expo centers, auditoriums, and theaters. Spectra provides its services on a turnkey management and/or consulting basis for the pre-opening/design and construction phases of a new facility, as well as the ongoing operations for an existing facility.

Full-Time Opportunities

Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor manages, supervises, and coordinates event setup activities and daily operations for the facility. The Operations Supervisor manages the efficiency of its employees and is responsible for staff assistance to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise conversions
  • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and managing of operations staff
  • Serve as a lead for the operations team during events and be “hands on” at all times, leading by example in accordance with set standards
  • Meet with the Event Manager at the beginning of the event to confirm all details of the datasheet related to job functions, obtain assignments and review any changes
  • Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building
  • Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order
  • Maintain all event equipment (staging, tables, chairs, etc)
  • Oversee opening or closing of the facility for a move-in or move-out
  • Build and maintain business/client relations
  • Assist in the purchasing of facility equipment
  • Responsible for reporting to the Director of Operations of any issues during events, and using proper etiquette on radio
  • Assist in ensuring that employees’ presentation meets standards - uniforms, personal hygiene, presentation, etc.
  • Ensure all practices comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards; enforce safety regulations
  • Experience or knowledge of stage building, forklift operation, and man lift operation preferred
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with facility coordination, event changeovers, and direct employee supervision
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to function in a multi-task environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital
  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, business, or other related field preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and function in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and select holidays
  • Must demonstrate accountability, initiative, and a positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications are necessary

Part-Time/On-Call Opportunities

Event Staff

The on-call Event Staff personnel typically serve in various event-related roles including but not limited to ticket taking, ticket selling, ushering, guest services, event security, and parking lot attendant. 

Catering Waitstaff

Catering Waitstaff is responsible for serving guests in the venue dining areas at catering functions and must be able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.

Kitchen Cook

Kitchen Cooks are responsible for fulfilling the service food orders in each venue dining area.

Concessions Cashier

Concessions Cashiers are responsible for processing payments for guests and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Operations Worker

Operations Workers perform event set-up and tear-downs, custodial, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks as assigned.
