The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds is collaborating with the Women’s Shelter of South Texas, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, in our first ever “RMB Regional Fairgrounds Holiday Toy Drive.”
The Toy Drive will benefit children of the Women’s Shelter of South Texas in hopes of providing children in need with toys for the holiday season. Providing holiday toys for children can be a struggle for families especially those have been victims of domestic violence.
Together we can help our community and bring the most joyous time of the year a dream come true for children of the Women’s Shelter of South Texas. New unwrapped donations will be accepted and collected November 27th-December 18th at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds during office hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Toy Drive donations will benefit children from ages 0 – 17 years old. The Women’s Shelter of South Texas appreciates and welcomes all donations. Below is a list of items that can be donated in order to make this holiday season one to remember.
• Toys for ages 0-17 years old
• Gift cards
• Gas cards
• Tennis shoes or Shower shoes (flip flops) ages 0-17 years old
• Clothing for ages 0-17 years old

Gift cards to stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, H-E-B, or other general retailers allow clients of the Women’s Shelter of South Texas to choose items that their individual family needs at the time they are receiving services. For example, clients can benefit from a gift card to help purchase gas for their vehicle to relocate to a safe location, purchases of shoes and clothes for their children to wear to school, and food for their family.
Toy drive donations will be accepted and collected November 27th-December 18th at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds during office hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
If you would like to donate and cannot make it during our office hours please call us at 361-387-9000.
